Moving Mountains: How to Get Unstuck
"You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible" -Matthew 17:20 NLT
Could you imagine just speaking a few words and watching all your problems disappear? I bet a lot of people would love to make their bills disappear that easily. Imagine if all you had to say was "Bills be gone!" and *poof* you're out of debt! Yeah, that would be nice but back to reality. The reality is that you do have the power to change your situation but it is going to require work to get from where you are to where you want to be.
I started this blog in 2015 on Instagram when I was first diagnosed with PTSD from domestic violence and let me tell y'all, I was going THROUGH it! That was a mountain unlike any mountain I have ever faced before but what I quickly realized was that after years of overcoming different obstacles I had built up my faith so much to the point where in my mind that mountain was already moved. I was just waiting for it to happen and doing the work to make sure it happened. It was then when I vowed that the traumatic event that I experienced, the pain that I was feeling and the struggle that I was experiencing was not going to be in vain. I was convinced that God was going to create something beautiful out of my brokenness.
If you are feeling stuck I want to encourage you to not get caught up in your test and think that what you are up against is bigger than you. You have the power to turn your situation around. Begin by speaking victory over your situation and things will begin to turn in your favor.
Here are some tips to help you get UNSTUCK:
- DON'T TAKE YOUR Ls (losses) PERSONAL: It may feel personal but when you look at the bigger picture you will realize that you are not the first person to go through this and you won't be the last but you will be the one who didn't give up. Also, you never know who is watching you to see if they can get through their situation too or who you may be able to bless with your story in the future. Learn what you can from your losses and move forward.
- KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE: One thing that I have learned is that most of our problems are temporary. You will make it through this storm it's just a matter of how. Keeping a positive attitude can make a huge difference in how you come out on the other side of your problem. Be optimistic and get ready to move your mountain and show someone else it can be moved!
- HAVE FAITH: Stop telling God about your mountain and start telling your mountain about your God. Start trusting and believing in the mighty God you serve to make a way out of no way. While everyone is busy counting you out God is counting you in. He is not done with you yet and as long as you have faith you will overcome any obstacle life may bring your way. I know it's true because he has done it for me.
- DO THE WORK: I know it's not easy to face your problems but that is how you get to where you want to be. Whether that means going to counseling, getting a coach, joining a support group you have to do something different to get something different. What are you willing to do to have a better life? Commit to taking action to turn your situation around and start living your best life today.
